Our Program

| Rennell Community Foundation

Rennell Community Foundation (RCF) focuses on practical programs that create real opportunities for students and young adults pursuing skilled trade careers. Every program is designed to remove common barriers and provide support that leads to long-term success.

We believe impact happens when help is clear, direct, and connected to real outcomes. That is why our programs are simple, focused, and centered on the needs of the people we serve.

Who Qualifies

Our scholarships are available to students and young adults who are pursuing education in approved skilled trade programs. This includes trade schools, vocational programs, certification courses, and apprenticeship-related training. Priority is given to individuals who show commitment, motivation, and financial need.

What Support Looks Like

Scholarship funds are used to help cover the cost of tuition, course fees, testing, and required educational materials. Support may be awarded as partial or full assistance depending on the program and the student’s situation.

Why It Matters

The cost of trade education can be a major obstacle. Many students are ready to work but cannot afford to get started. Scholarships remove that first barrier and allow students to focus on learning skills that lead to stable, well-paying careers without long-term debt.

| Tools & Starter Kits

Who Qualifies

Students enrolled in skilled trade programs or apprenticeships who need tools, safety gear, or certifications to begin working are eligible for this support. Many recipients are first-time trade students who do not have the resources to purchase required equipment.

What Support Looks Like

RCF provides financial assistance for essential tools, safety equipment, work gear, and required certifications. Support may include starter kits tailored to specific trades, such as construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or technical fields.

Why It Matters

Without proper tools, students cannot train, work, or advance. Tools are not optional in the trades—they are essential. By providing this support, we help students show up prepared, confident, and ready to succeed from day one.

| Internship & Apprenticeship Support

Who Qualifies

Students and young adults who have completed or are actively enrolled in trade education and are ready for hands-on experience may qualify. Participants must demonstrate reliability, willingness to learn, and commitment to building a career in the trades.

What Support Looks Like

RCF partners with local businesses, contractors, and trade professionals to help place qualified candidates into internships and apprenticeship opportunities. We focus on real-world environments where students can learn, grow, and gain valuable experience.

Why It Matters

Hands-on experience is critical in skilled trades. Classroom learning alone is not enough. Internships and apprenticeships help students apply what they’ve learned, build confidence, and create connections that often lead to long-term employment.

| Why Our Programs Work

Each RCF program is built around one goal: helping people move forward. We focus on clear paths—from education to tools to real work—so support leads to measurable progress, not temporary help.

When students are supported at the right time and in the right way, they do more than learn a trade. They build careers, independence, and futures they can be proud of.
